The Black diamond rings we are focusing on are not made from reject diamonds.
Reject Diamonds or BOART are normally crushed in to Diamond Powder to be used in the Cutting of other Diamonds......they are normal, quality diamonds that happen to be Black in color.
The black color in otherwise normal diamonds is not due to trace elements e.g Manganese and Nitrogen found in Red and Pink diamonds respectively.
It is due to minute inclusions (black specs of carbon inside the Diamond) and clustering.

Black fancy diamonds are a marvel of nature as they seem to completely absorb light & have a unique brilliance that seems to originate from sheer darkness.

The black diamond rough is mined in DRC, Sierra Leone and South Africa.
Most of the black diamonds are usually opaque but can also be Translucent but you have to hold them up to a strong light to see inside them.
They are in the low four figure per carat bracket.

The rare Flawless or VSI (very slightly included) stones command high prices.

These diamonds have been used in jewelery for many years but seem to go in and out of style.
They are currently quite popular in a mens diamond rings.
Black fancy diamond rings look good in Platinum due to the color contrast.
They also go well with Yellow and White gold.

The black fancy diamond rings can use either cut diamonds or polished ones depending on the quality of the diamond and the target market.
Polished Diamonds basically have no facets, they are just shaped and polished to give a smooth surface. This is only done with low quality stones.
