A personal Favourite in Blue Diamond Rings !!!

I suppose since Blue is my favorite color, i like Blue Diamond Rings the most!! On that note i might as well include blue diamond jewelry.
The blue color in the Diamonds is cause by trace amounts of Boron in the stones Structure.
Most of the Blue diamonds were traditionally from India. However, there are now african blue diamonds which have recently been discovered.
Some Blue diamonds are natural Semi-Conductors; they actually conduct electricity.
This is unusual as most diamonds are excellent electrical Insulators.

I have been privileged to see natural blue diamond rings (I don't own one YET !!!) up close and personal and it's simply breathtaking.
Why do i say privileged?
In October 2007, the Hong Kong Branch of Sotheby's sold a Blue Diamond for $7.98 Million.
The 6.04 Carat Fancy vivid blue diamond was Internally flawless & cut in to an Emerald shape sold for $1.32 million per carat. Am sure that it would make an amazing piece of blue diamond jewelry.
This is a record for ANY Gemstone ever sold.

Moral of the story is that the very best blue fancies are rare & on the expensive side and most jewelers have never seen one.
Blue Fancies are mostly set in platinum but can also be set as white gold diamond rings.

Can you get affordable blue diamond rings? Most definitely!!!
Thing is though, you will not find them in just any high street store.
They are sold mostly by specialist Jewelers who deal in blue diamond jewelry & fancy blue diamonds. This makes sense since they aren't the cheapest items on the menu!!
Will you have to part with a body part to afford one?

Always remember though, you get what you pay for and if you aren't careful....you'll sometimes get LESS than what you paid for!!
Huh?? What i mean is that since there are so many factors influencing the cost of a diamond because of their high value, its only wise to be careful where you buy yours.
Its also good to keep in mind that not all Jewelers are 100% honest. Some of them will try to sell you a rubbish stone hence..."you might get less than what you paid for" !!
